What is it?

A leaflet with information and tips on safe coupling procedures for lorries and trailers, provided by the German statutory accident insurance branch organisation for transportation. The second most common cause of fatal accidents with large good vehicles (LGVs) occurs when drivers fail to follow safe coupling and parking procedures. The lorry or trailer may start moving unintentionally, running over or even fatally crushing the driver.

Who is it for?

Lorry drivers and others coupling and uncoupling lorry trailers. Their employers, fleet managers, driving instructors and lorry inspectors.

What is the benefit?

Safe work practices prevent vehicle runaways and trailer rollaway situations. The leaflet helps drivers work safely, while staying aware of potential dangers.
