Road safety management
Road safety management

What is it?

A leaflet on reducing road accidents, highlighting four very important, yet simple principles: no speeding, no alcohol or drugs, safety belts and properly secured cargo.

Who is it for?

Contractors, haulers and drivers.

What is the benefit?

Reducing the number of road accidents involving trucks through safe driving behaviour by sober truck drivers.

Getting started

Road safety management is a shared responsibility of contractors, haulers and drivers;

  • Road safety is on the list of duties of contractors' and haulers' supervisors;
  • Drivers follow a training program on safe driving behaviour;
  • Safe driving is monitored through technical instruments where possible;
  • Unsafe behaviour is detected and given a personal follow-up.

Accidents are studied; identified causes of accidents may lead to adjustment of the priority areas of action.
