About this e-guide

Welcome!

Throughout Europe, the proportion of older people in the population is growing, people have to work longer, and the average age of workers is increasing. It is therefore important to:

  • Create safe and healthy workplaces for workers of all ages.
  • Ensure people can reach the end of their working career in good health.

This e-guide provides practical information, tips and examples related to the ageing of the workforce and the opportunities it brings along. It also shows how age-related challenges can be addressed at work.

The content of the e-guide has been tailored to four different audiences: employers, workers, HR managers and OSH professionals (including, for the purpose of this e-guide, workers’ representatives, health and safety representatives and labour inspectors). Throughout the e-guide it is possible to switch between profiles.
